A schedule saves on the spot. It needs an explicit time zone, runs under the LunarCrush connection of the person who asked, and is paused rather than run if that connection goes away. Every run counts against your plan quota, so keep the list of topics short.

Five steps, from Admin or from Slack.
The credential is asked for once, on a page Chickpea serves, and never in Slack. The link the teammate posts is good for one action, for one teammate, for 24 hours.
- In LunarCrush, sign in and open the API keys page to create a key. LunarCrush says the same key powers its webapp, its CLI, and its MCP server, and that you can hold up to five active keys at once.
- In Chickpea Admin, open the teammate, then Connections, find LunarCrush, and choose Connect. Or ask in Slack,

There is no built-in Chickpea skill for LunarCrush, and none is needed. The tools arrive from LunarCrush's MCP server: Chickpea connects before it saves anything, records what the server answered with, and exposes only those tools. What is the LunarCrush MCP server?
A hosted endpoint LunarCrush runs at lunarcrush.ai/mcp that exposes its social data as tools an AI agent can call. LunarCrush describes it as putting the platform's social intelligence into Claude, Cursor, and any MCP-aware client, authenticated with the same bearer API key as the rest of its API. Chickpea connects to that same server, so a teammate in a Slack channel uses it with no client installed anywhere.
Is the LunarCrush MCP free?
Not for the social data. LunarCrush's developer docs say every request counts against your plan's per-minute and daily quota, and that the free Hobby tier is limited to market-data endpoints. Social, creator, and AI endpoints need a paid plan. Chickpea itself adds nothing on top: it is Apache 2.0, runs on your own Cloudflare account, and has no seats and no metering.
Which LunarCrush plan does this need?
A paid one, for anything social. LunarCrush's docs list Hobby at 4 requests a minute and 100 a day on market-data endpoints only, Individual at 10 a minute and 2,000 a day on limited endpoints, Builder at 100 a minute and 20,000 a day on every endpoint, Scale at 500 a minute and 100,000 a day, and Enterprise as custom. Its pricing page puts Individual at $90 a month, Builder at $300, and Scale at $900, with annual rates lower. Read lunarcrush.com/pricing before you budget, because rates change.
Does it use LunarCrush's MCP server or the API?
The MCP server. LunarCrush is a vendor MCP lane: the deployment connects to lunarcrush.ai/mcp over streamable HTTP and sends your key as a bearer token. Chickpea writes no LunarCrush endpoints of its own, and the connection cannot reach any other address.
Can I add LunarCrush MCP to Claude or Cursor instead?
Yes, and LunarCrush documents both. Its MCP page gives a Claude Desktop config that runs the server through `mcp-remote`, and a URL-and-header config for Cursor and other clients that take one. Those put the data in one person's editor. A teammate puts it in a channel, with a stored connection, saved instructions, schedules, and every answer visible in the thread where someone asked. Plenty of teams run both.
What is a Galaxy Score?
LunarCrush's own definition: a 0 to 100 composite score that combines social activity, sentiment, and market momentum into a single number, updated in real time for every cryptocurrency and stock it tracks. LunarCrush says a reading above 50 indicates above-average community engagement and market performance. Its other proprietary metric, AltRank, is relative rather than absolute, where rank 1 is the strongest combined social and market momentum across the whole tracked universe at that moment.
Is this investment advice?
No. This is data, not advice. The teammate reports what LunarCrush measures, which is social volume, sentiment, creators, and market metrics, and it names the metric behind every number it posts. It is not a licensed adviser and neither is Chickpea. What you do with a Galaxy Score is your decision and your risk.
Can it place a trade, or delete anything?
No. This connector holds one credential, your LunarCrush API key, and reaches one address, lunarcrush.ai/mcp. There is no exchange, no wallet, and no broker anywhere in it. LunarCrush's API is a data API, so there is nothing to delete either. On top of that, during a Slack turn Chickpea refuses any MCP tool whose name does not start with an unambiguous read verb unless your own message names that action.
Is this LunarCrush's own AI product?
No, and the two sit next to each other. LunarCrush publishes an AI reference at lunarcrush.ai, which serves the same data as LLM-ready markdown addressable by topic, creator, category, or post, and it markets a LunarCrush + Claude page that describes the MCP server giving Claude Code access to social sentiment, trending topics, creator metrics, and market signals. Chickpea is the Slack side of the same server. You bring your own LunarCrush key, and the teammate answers in a channel rather than in an editor.
Where does the API key live?
On your deployment, in a write-only Credential field outside the teammate record. It never enters the model's context, the tool arguments the model writes, or Slack. The model picks a connection by id and the key goes into the Authorization header at the last step on the way out. Disconnect the account and the stored secret is removed, after any schedule that depended on it is paused. LunarCrush lets you hold five keys and revoke any of them, so a key given to a teammate can be retired on their side too.
